The precise linear motifs on this scarf have been created by an enterprising group of young tailors who were inspired by the traditional bandhani (tie-dye) they observed their mothers make since childhood. Fusing their skill on the sewing machine with the indigenous knowledge of resist-dyeing, they have improvised a new craft form: stitched shibori.
