Lehariya Indigo Dress

The classic lehariya pattern on this product is a traditional Indian form of tie-dye initially used for making turbans in Rajasthan (Western India). Today many of the more complicated 'lehariya' patterns are irrevicably lost as only a handful of skilled artisans remain. The craft has been extensively copied on low-cost screen printed fabrics leading to a complete erosion of its value. The base fabric is handloom Maheshwari. Tailored by women from a Self Help Group in Mumbai. Your purchase contributes to the livelihood of 4 artisans.
